First half marathon,
October 20, 2004
Jeff has been hard at work getting ready for his first half marathon, which will take place in Niagra Falls Ontario this Sunday the 24th. When asked about his chances this weekend May replied "I feel really fit, my workouts have gone really well and I know i can run a fast time if everything comes together."
Rainy conditions can be troublesome for wheelchair athletes. More traditional racers grip with their push rims will be affected and for May slippery pavement means less traction for his feet which inturn could slow him down. "I don't want it to be raining but I have been training in the rain and on windy days so I've prepared for it, and really we are all going to have to deal with the same conditions." May said.
